Lucid Circuit: Lucid Circuit is an early stage, computer chip company designing chips for artificial intelligence use cases and is optimal for smallsats. Their team has created a way to determine which parts of the chip need to be reinforced for space applications, reducing the need for redundancies. A typical satellite chip is triple redundant, thus much larger and heavier than Lucid Circuit’s chip. They designed the chip at its foundation to be used for AI applications, thus reducing energy consumption for those tasks. Their chips are ideal for running change detection on images taken from satellites onboard the satellite vs. having to downlink all of the information. The IP has been taken out of research from the University of Southern California and they’re currently raising a seed round.

AVRL: Advanced Voice Research Labs (AVRL) is focusing on augmenting the throughput of the human aspect of the supply chain. Their revolutionary natural language processing engine allows for easy input that allows machines to understand what people are saying to them without needing keywords or rigid sentence structure. It not only processes the words being spoken but it pairs that information with the inflection in the user’s voice to decipher what they’re actually trying to say. They are seeing increases in operational efficiency by as much as 350% with global 2000 companies. Their software supports 10+ languages and requires minimal training to use. They have raised a seed round of an undisclosed amount and they’re based in Portland.
