Batch 8: Aromyx & Red6

Aromyx: Aromyx has built a platform for the digital capture of sent and taste by creating a sensor that puts the human olfactory and taste receptors onto a disposable biochip with a digital readout. It allows the gathering of the biochemical signals in the same ways as the human nose and tongue. They raised a $5.6m seed from Rewired, Ulu Ventures, StartX, TSVC, and Mindset Ventures.

Red6: Red6 is developing AI driven High Fidelity Augmented Reality in dynamic environments. Their goal is to develop AR for the inside of fighter jet cockpits. Augmented reality becomes much more challenging when the environment is moving at high speeds such as a car or a plane. One of their products, Atari (Advanced Tactical Augmented Reality Integration), is a system that allows for an augmented battlefield that can help pilots better train for combat scenarios.  One of their co-founders, Daniel Robinson is a former F-22 pilot in the Royal Air Force and the other co-founder, Nick Bicanic was also a founder of another VR/AR company called RVLVR. The team is based out of the Santa Monica Airport.
